It is my great pleasure to introduce the korean feed industry and the Korea Feed Association as well as its member companies. The korean feed industry has expanded its production volume during the past three decades in line with the outstanding growth of the livestock industry, with an increase of production from 901thou.M/T in 1975 to 16,148thou.M/T in 2007. Due to the shortage of the domestic feed ingredient resources, most of raw materials has been imported from abroad, of which the importing volume amounts to 15mill.M/T per annum, ranked Korea as the second largest importing country in Asia. The Korea Feed Association, since its inception, has exerted itself to enhance the efficiency and the competitiveness of korean feed industry, having made a great contribution for the development of the livestock industry. With such achievements and experiences, the Association with its member companies will continuously make great efforts in developing compound feed that will increase the productivity of livestocks, provide maximum return to livestock farmers and minimize environmental pollution.
