The Korea Feed Association was established on July 3, 1961 for the purpose of developing scientific technology in manufacturing compound feed, promoting feed industry and livestock industry and serving for the common interest of its member companies. The headquarter of the Korea Feed Association is located in Seoul, with branch offices in Incheon and Busan.

Under the Association, the Feed Industry Research Institute, as a specialized technical body, was also established in 1985 for analysis of imported feed ingredients as well as safety and quality control of the compound feed.

The major businesses of the Association are collective purchase of ingredients, survey and research on the feed industry, recommendation of policies to the govern
ment, information service and public relations.

As of December 2008, the Association  consists of 41 compound feed manufacturers which has operated 62 manufacturing facilities, and has produced 11mil.M/T of compound feed , occupied approximately 67% of total national production.
